Research interests

I have started working at the Department of Geochemistry of the IRSM in 2014, shortly after I finished my Ph.D. studies at the Institute for Environmental Studies of the Faculty of Science, Charles University.
Professionally, I focus on chromatography with a very wide scope of interests. I am able to develop and evaluate different chromatographic methods for analysis of materials of different nature and origin, for e.g. coal, fossil woods and resins, waxes and paraffins, peat, soil and river sediments, bitumens.
My current research is focused on the chemistry of resins of present-day conifers and relationships with biomarkers of their fossilized related species.
The majority of my research is related to the changes in terpenoids composition in resins under the influence of various factors such as anthropogenic stress and/or seasonality.
I am active in the field of research the effect of soil biota on decomposition and storage of soil organic matter, namely on the soil carbon sequestration.
I also researched a thorny topic - beeswax adulteration with paraffin or studied geopolymers.

Publications

Currently, I am author or co-author of more than 14 scientific papers in IF journals; 122 citations without self-citations; H-index 7
