Description:

The objective of this project was examination of the intensity of the tetrad effect in distribution of rare earth elements on topaz-bearing granites from the Saxothuringian Zone of the Bohemian Massif. The project has included the study of as well high-phosphorus granites from the western part of the Saxothuringian Zone (Krásno, Horní Slavkov, Podlesí) as low-phosphorus granites from the eastern part of the Saxothuringian Zone (Zinnwald/Cínovec, Altenberg). In both types of high-evolved granites various REE-bearing minerals were found and detailed studied (xenotime, monazite, fluorite, U-rich pyrochlore, bastnaesite, synchisite).
