Description:

The ASPELEA project constituted efforts to assess an earthquake potential of seismoactive zone determination in a number of European high-risk earthquake zones on the basis of several advanced methods puting together university institutions and research centres of eight European countries (see above). The earthquake zones that were considered in the frame of ASPELEA project are the Thiva-Oropos and West Corinthos Gulf (both in Greece), the Eastern Alps, Northern-Central Apennines, Southern Apennines, Vrancea (Romania), Kresna (Bulgaria) and Vlora-Debar (Albania). In these zones different approaches were tested and all interrelated activities were directed to the main project goal, the seismic potential estimate..
