Description:

The main objective of the project is to investigate the structure and mechanical properties of carbon composite materials reinforced with various types of carbon woven and braided fabric and, if possible, to utilize the gathered knowledge for optimizingthe reinforcement design. For this purpose, the manufacture of a carbon braid will be mastered and its most important parameters will be tested. Attention will be paid also to the role of processing parameters (carbonization heat treatment, impregnati on, and high-temperature heat treatment) in formation of the final structure of the composite. The effort will be aimed at obtaining the material with a low proneness to delamination failure.
