Study of the dependence of optical and electrical properties on the composition of glasses, especially with regard to the content of rare earth ions and / or selected transition metals (eg Bi, W, Mo) in glasses based on PbCl2-TeO2 binary system and the addition of alkali halides (CsX) , KX, NaX, where X = I, Br, Cl) into chalcogenide glasses derived from the systems Ga-Sb-S / Se and Ga-Ge- (As) -S.
Selection of the most suitable glass compositions for doping with rare earth ions with regard to their thermal and chemical stability.
Study of the possibility of using measurements of electrical and dielectric properties of glasses to monitor and evaluate the effects of technological conditions during their preparation on the final quality of prepared samples and to optimize these conditions and composition of glasses to increase purity and reduce impurities (eg OH-groups) in prepared materials .
Identification of basic structural units forming a glass network using infrared spectroscopy (KBr tablets) and Raman scattering.
Study of the efficiency of radiant 4f-4f transitions of rare earth ions embedded in glasses and study of involved energy transfer processes, especially with regard to the mechanisms of frequency up-conversion and interaction between rare earth ions with the surrounding glass matrix. F. Study of energy transfer between coded rare earth ions and its influence on the luminescent properties of the studied glasses.
