Description:

In frame of the previous grant, the coupled modelling has been focused on only stability of tunnel face and stability of slopes. In the project proposed, techniques of the coupled modelling will be substantially extended and the range of structures will principally be wider. In principle, a combination of linear effects of the external loading and material and time-dependent non-linear change in structures will be considered. Numerical models will be generally discontinuous. To verify using of these approaches in reality, numerical models will be confronted with laboratory scale models. Simulation in laboratory conditions allows us to prepare extended parametric studies. The goal of the project is to submit procedures, which are as suitable as possible for couple modelling using not only the laboratory tests, but also “in situ” measurements.
