Principal investigator:

Mgr. Jan Valenta, Department of Seismotectonics, IRSM AS CR, v.v.i.

Description:

Project aims to develop techniques for using shear waves in shallow seismic surveys, mostly for determination of rock anisotropy in-situ. The project also aims to possible use of converted shear waves. This may allow use of simple and cheap sources of primary waves, which can dramatically widespread current possibilities of shallow seismic survey while simplifying and reducing costs of field measurements. For data interpretation current interpretation techniques will be improved and new developed. Field experiments have just begun.
