Description:

The main objective of the project is to develop and optimize processing principles for novel carbon-carbon (C/C) nanocomposites based on nanosize carbon and ceramic particles (platelet, tubes and spheres) and rigid-rod like polyimides subjected carbonization and graphitization under the temperatures higher then 2000 °C. Emphasis will be given to optimizing supermolecular structure of polyimide matrix after graphitization in the presence of nanosize particles and developing compositions with unique mechanical, tribological and transport properties.
