We are pleased to invite you to the „2nd Czech-Taiwanese Geoscientific Workshop“, which will present recent results from the joint Czech–Taiwanese research collaboration on fault movements and landslide activity.
The international workshop, including talks and poster presentations, will take place on 29 April 2026 from 9:00 to 17:30 in hall 206 at the main headquarters of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Národní 3, Prague 1.
A series of invited lectures by Taiwanese and Czech colleagues will introduce current investigations conducted in both countries aimed at improving our understanding of deformation dynamics, internal structures, and hazard mitigation related to faults and landslides. The programme will include presentations on various monitoring approaches, geophysical surveys, and hazard management of recent landslides.
Detailed information about the programme and the event is available on the workshop website: https://the-international-taiwan-czech-geoscientific-workshop-1c35b5.webnode.cz/
Participation in the workshop is free of charge.
The aim of the workshop is to present the ongoing Taiwanese–Czech scientific cooperation since 2021to the professional community, representatives of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the broader scientific public in the Czech Republic. Invited lectures will highlight not only recent landslide-related research conducted by the Czech–Taiwanese research team, but also current geophysical investigations carried out in cooperation between Taiwanese experts and scientists from the Czech Academy of Sciences, Masaryk University and Brno University of Technology.
This Workshop follows-up of the "2024 Taiwan-Czech Republic Workshop on Slope and Active Tectonics" jointly organized by the ARDWC and National Cheng Kung University on January 19, 2024.
