Description:

Goals of the project: The seismic hazard assessment in selected areas using different techniques. Investigation of the reliability, limitations and uncertainties of every methodology. Estimation of an influence of local geological conditions. Completion of the strong particle ground motion database till the end of 1999. Detailed mapping of the peak particle accelerations by means of various attenuation relationships and by new formulas derived as functions of representative fault parameters. Comparison of the zones of high particle accelerations with an attenuation pattern by the 3-D inversion of the macroseismic field.
