Description:

Standard seismostatistic approach of the earthquake hazard assessment will be extended for corrections on local geology effects that often significantly change amplitude and frequency contents of seismic waves and in this way their damaging impacts to building structures. Relations among characteristics of the seismic waves and physical parameters of geological media, especially of sedimentary covers, will be evaluated and their common relationships will be statistically determined. The relationships will be applied to the earthquake hazard calculations for the Czech Republic and output hazard values will be drawn into the last version of geological map of the Czech Republic, scale 1 : 500 000, compiled by the Czech Geological Survey (2004).
